Blog

Thu Jul 30, 2009, 8:20 AM
Well, as a result of some boredom, I created a blog. I like writing, and it's a nice place to share some of my thoughts - however random they are. But, being new to the blogging world, I have no comments, or followers. :(
Feel free to check it out: http://spiceoflife.blog.rlynngraphicdesign.com/

Thanks!

it has been a VERY long time since I have been on here, but someone mentioned it today at work, and I ran out of ads to do, so here I am.
I graduated around a month and a half ago and moved and it took me a while to get my internet set up and myself settled in. I think everything is pretty much taken care of now though.
I working at a newspaper right now and I like it, though it is a lot of advertising which is the part of graphic design I like the least, I think. But, there aren't a lot of options when you live in the sticks. No more city for me though. I didn't like it one bit. I'm should get cracking in the freelance web I have, but my computer isn't doing very well, and I get too frustrated trying to make it work.
I have quite a bit of photography I should upload here one of these days. Hopefully I can get around to it soon.
Laters all.

seventh quarter

Mon May 12, 2008, 8:02 AM
I should have quite a few photos to upload here in the next few months. I just started my seventh quarter and a photography workshop as well. We have weekly assignments so I'll be taking a lot of pictures.
This quarter is supposed to be really busy. And it is, but I can manage. It is pretty much our last quarter of classes before we graduate. Next quarter is one class and our internship. The only thing I'm a little worried about right now is what I am going to do about a job after this quarter. I wont be working in the Print Center at school any longer. I'm going to have to either find a paid internship or get another job, which I don't know if i will have time for. So hopefully paid internship.
There is another art crawl in Bellevue, PA on Sat. the 24th of this month from 5-9pm. I'm going to have more photography there. But anyone around the area should definitely go. There are a few shops open, some galleries, theres food and wine. and in the evening there is a jazz concert. For this one they are taking donations to save the Murphy Building in Bellevue, which is where the art crawl will be held this time.

Well, this past weekend there was an art crawl in Bellevue, PA. I have some photography in the Lincoln Barber Shop in town. It should be there for the next month. I'm selling some of my work there, mostly the black and white pictures that I'll be uploading in the next few days. Anyone living near Pittsburgh should definitely check out these crawls every month.

I'm now working on a web site for the Sudan Refugees in Pittsburgh along with a corresponding brochure and a logo. besides that I'm working on a web site in school for the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania, and I need to get my web site up. Lots to work on.

I'll try to get some of the photography in color next week.

once again...

I'm bored. It's the beginning of another quarter, and work is slow. I've been looking for another job maybe some freelance work, that would be great. I'm not having a lot of luck though, I'm not really sure how to go about it. I'm in my 6th quarter now. Hard to believe that I graduate in two more. I just need to figure out what exactly I'm going to do then. I've been considering looking for work in the New England area, but I don't know yet.

School is going fairly well. When I first got my schedule, I though this quarter was going to suck. I have speech and ethics and not really any fun classes. But, I decided that if I go into it with a crappy attitude, I'm probably going to have a crappy time. So, I'm just going to make the best of it. Ethics is still pretty boring, but I figure that speech class should help me get over some of my speaking-in-front-of-people worries, and it actually already has. I've done two speeches so far and they went pretty well. I was also chosen as team leader for my project development class. Being a leader is a bit new for me, but I'm getting used to that to. In career development I have to do a mock interview, which reminds me i need to schedule that. That should be good for me, because I don't think I'm very good at interviews.

Hmm... what else? Well, if all goes well, I'm going to have some of my photography in the Lincoln Barber Shop in Bellevue in March. That's the plan right now anyways. I'd like to get some other things in it too, but I don't know if that will get done.
yay.. a color print.
